A New Switching Adaptive Fuzzy Controller with an Application to Vibration Control of a Vehicle Seat Suspension Subjected to Disturbances

This paper proposes a new switching adaptive fuzzy controller and applies it to vibration control of vehicle seat suspension equipped with semi-active magnetorheological (MR) damper. The proposed system consists three functioned filters: (1) Filter 1: model interval type 2 compensate disturbances; (2) 2: ‘switching term’ evaluate the magnitude disturbance; (3) 3: group adaptation laws enhance robustness input. These filters play role powerful shields improve performance guarantee stability applied subjected external disturbances. After embedding PID (proportional-integral-derivative) into Riccati-like equation, main parameters are updated based on laws. is then synthesized in two different cases: high disturbance small disturbance. For disturbance, special sliding surface function, which relates an exponential function its t-norm, used increase energy system. from modified t-norm neglected reduce consumption maintaining desired performance. To demonstrate effectiveness controller, installed controllable MR damper adopted reflect against disturbances corresponding road excitations. It validated computer simulation that can provide better than other existing robust controllers showing excellent well-reduced displacement velocity at position seat.
